Place Brévière
Louis-Henri Brévière is born in Forges-les-Eaux in 1797, rue des Fées. Engraver of international fame, he obtains the title of official engraver of the Government Printing Office and several of his works appear in the World Fairs of Paris and London.

The original bust, removed in 1942 for the benefit of the German army, sent back in 1993.

In the old days, grew red forges
Maybe you will visit the street of the end of Hell?!
They were many smiths in Forges-les-Eaux. We gave this name to this street because, in the old days, grew red forges at the end of this way.

The legend of the Fairies
If Forges " knew hell ", the city also had its fairies.
A legend tells that, in the ancient times, this street led to mysterious wood populated with small fairies. During a party, one of the fairies invited one called Uger to dance and to thank him, offered him a bottle of cider. This one would never be empty as long as he would keep this secret!
But one day, Uger drank more than of reason and revealed its secret. The charm broke and the bottle remained empty for ever... The poor man Uger died from his sorrow.

Old presbytery
Admire the beautiful facade of the XVIIth century of the old presbytery.
This building is built with 3 typical materials of the region used till the beginning of the XIXth century: wood, bricks and stoneware.

L'Avenue des Sources
You may go all over the Avenue of the drinkers of water, term used after the 1st World war, to indicate the persons having hydrotherapy.
They cross this avenue, not fitted out in the time, to go to drink waters which were at the bottom of the city.

Porte de Gisors
The door of the old convent of the Carmelites of Gisors, established in 1631 by François Sablet, and destroyed during the Second World War. In the 1950s, Jacques Hébertot, owner of the Casino of Forges, bought the only vestige to set up it in the city.

Kiosk of the old Hydropathic establishment
In 1573: Nicolas de Moy discovers three ferruginous springs.
From the XVIth to the XIXth century, springs were visible.
From the end of XIXth until the next days of the Second World War, the drinkers of water took advantage of benefactions of waters or in the hydropathic establishment which was in the location of ForgesHotel, or in the artificial caves fitted out around the establishment.
From 50s to the 80s, the hydropathic establishment was destroyed, a kiosk (nicknamed flying saucer) is fitted out.

The Casino
The Casino was built in 1903, built to replace this of the XIXth , which was destroyed by a fire. The Greek style facade is a refitting dating back to the 50s, realized on Jacques Hébertot initiative.

Leisure activities and entertainments

Green way London-Paris
Believer in its currency "By the iron and by the water", Forges-les-Eaux, spa town with its attractive villas and its parks from the XIXth century, will be the climax of this part of the Green Avenue. Running from London, it winds between hills towards the thermal former station, its temporary terminus, looking forward to its next pursuit towards Gournay and Paris.

Sports route
The fitness trail of Epinay allows a regular and complete physical training. It is established by 10 apparatus distributed on a distance of 3 km. Each workshop corresponds to a different exercise represented on a bulletin board. Adapted to every public, the route proposes you alternately dynamic and static exercises.

Route of orientation
The Permanent Route of Orientation "Wood of the Roe deer" is a ground equipped permanently, in the wood of Epinay, for the practice of the Orienteering race.

Artmazia
One of the longest permanent labyrinths to the world, 5 000 beeches and charms. Recognized better artistic site for families in Normandy 2007.

Farm of Bray
In the heart of Pays de Bray, it is a unique and protected example of a rural domain from the XVIIth century. Among the various restored buildings, we find in the farm building: a mill with wheat, a baker's oven, a dovecote, a henhouse, a set of buildings dedicated to the manufacturing of the cider: attic, press and cellar.
In every building, various collections of traditional tools are presented: the manufacturing tools of the cider, the flour and Neufchâtel cheese.

Ponds of Sommery
In the middle of meadows, 7 ponds of trout fishing were fitted out, devoted to your favorite leisure. For individuals, packages are proposed to you. Individuals, groups, works councils can go fishing without licence there. For groups, a pond is booked and adapted for fishermen. On the spot: renting of fishing rods, sales of materials and bait.

Park of Clères
Zoological and botanical park, the site is also rich of a remarkable built heritage: a magnificent castle of style.
